The Cactus Hotel is located approximately half way between Larnaca International Airport and the city centre. Taxi fares to and from town and the airport are generally inexpensive (out of our control but on average less than E10) Most of our guests enjoy the leisurely 15 minute walk from the hotel in Larnaca, enjoying the McKenzie coastline, taking you past the Turkish sector and Mosque and then the picturesque and famous Larnaca Castle.
The beaches in McKenzie are a few minutes walking from the hotel and are very popular and all offer umbrellas and reclining chairs for a small fee.
For trips further afield there is an inter-city service which will collect you from the hotel entrance and drop you back here on the return journey. This service travels to all cities on the island – Ayia Napa, Protaras, Limassol, Nicosia and Paphos and is much cheaper than using a taxi. The service is really good for day trips, for example to Ayia Napa where the beaches are the best on the island, and they generally run every hour of the day. One would just make sure of the time of the last trip of the day so as not to get stranded and have to find alternative transport. The service is bookable from the hotel reception.
In Larnaca there is a staffed and well run Tourist Information Centre (just next to the main Post Office and Police Station) which provides exhaustive information about all aspects of the Island. This is a good place to get maps, historical information etc. There is also a comprehensive public bus service that runs within Larnaca and surrounding area, of which the Tourist Information Centre has all details of routes and schedules.
Directions to Cactus Hotel from Larnaca International Airport
Head towards the exit of the Airport, when you reach the roundabout take the 2nd (second) exit, towards Larnaca Town. Approximately 500meters along, move into right hand lane to turn right at the lights, continue for approx 50meters, take the next road on left. Continue to the T-Junction, and turn right. Follow this road until you see Danny's Supermarket on your right, then take the next road on the right, which is Shakespeare Street, continue down this road, take the next road on the left, and STOP, you have arrived at the The Cactus Hotel on the left. |
